Nick Heyward

Nick Heyward

Born in 1961. Nick Heyward’s career in music began at 19 with the band Haircut 100. He’s had an absolute ball so far and will continue to for many years to come.

As good a poet, philosopher and muse as he is a singer and songwriter.

Nick was very keen to support Riley Park and help ensure it's future. He does the honours for us by starting off this great evening of music so don't be late!

Old Lost John

Old Lost John

"Swedish, moody, and wrapped up in that American folk-noir vibe seemingly de rigueur in his homeland. There are elements of the carnival-esque roguishness of Tom Waits mixed with winsome orchestrated, down-played grandness of, say, a stripped down Willard Grant Conspiracy. It all adds up to excellence; strong, absorbing songwriting and simplistic yet novel musical accompaniment.
Introspective tales of love lost, gone but not forgotten, is the order of the day here all supported tellingly by intermittent bursts of waifish harmonies, or dark, distant mandolins."

Malmo, Sweden is where we find our fearless troubadour Old Lost John, the moniker under which Tomas Thunberg resides. His new full length release titled "Faceless" is rife with the creepiness found in old photographs and campfire, Canterbury style folk tales. With a wispy, Bonnie “Prince” Billy rasp one must lay back and prepare for these 10 tracks.

Clarence Bucaro

Clarence Bucaro

"Jazz-infused songs reminiscent of Moondance-era Van Morrison".              TIME OUT NEW YORK

"A spirited nod to pure Southern soul, infused with classic keyboards, riveting guitar riffs and a vocal that emotes with the ageless grace of a distinguished veteran". BLURT

"The roots offspring of Jackson Browne and Ricki Lee Jones".                       BOSTON PHOENIX

"Inspirational and beautiful". CHICAGO SUN-TIMES

Clarence Bucaro, a Cleveland Ohio native, moved to New Orleans in 2004 after a long two-year haul touring the US and Europe and hiking the entire length of the Appalachian Trail. He intended to soak up its rich culture and make music with his mentor and collaborator Anders Osborne. Soon thereafter, Bucaro found himself enmeshed in a relationship. The combination of both his new love and home opened the creative floodgates. The results culminated in recording a collection of freshly penned songs, "New Orleans", in a single six hour session. Bucaro abandoned the project, however, immediately after laying the tracks to tape, the personal nature of the material weighing heavy on him. Soon thereafter, he would head west to Los Angeles to find new direction before eventually settling a year later in New York City. After the 2008 release of his critically acclaimed 'Til Spring Bucaro decided to open up the material from the "New Orleans" session, going on to complete it and now share it for release.

The final results are 10 intimate songs that range from sweet syncopated soul to skewed rock, pleading gospel to intimate ballads. The warm tone of the recording paired with Bucaro's love worn lyrics and heartfelt delivery call to mind artists like Jackson Browne and Van Morrison, but never impeding on his uniqueness as an artist.

Alexander Stewart

Alexander Stewart

Alexander Stewart (vocals), Alex Webb (piano), Gary Crosby (bass) and Andy Chapman (drums).

This talented twenty-two-year-old jazz singer glides effortlessly through his songs… and some terrific original material written by Alex Webb, his Musical Director. Anyone interested in a star-hopefully-in-the-making, should high-tail it to see him.’ Cabaret Scenes Magazine

Just 22 years of age, singer Alexander Stewart is already creating a buzz as one of the most precociously talented vocalists of the new generation.  With a voice rooted in Connick and Sinatra – and with a touch of the Kurt Elling rasp – Stewart avoids being a nostalgia act by a judiciously off-beat choice of material and a decidedly contemporary energy level.
As well as clever re-arrangements of great standards, he translates pop songs into jazz and adds some originals, including songs by pianist Alex Webb. Stewart performs with Webb, acclaimed bassist Gary Crosby - recently made an OBE for services to jazz in the UK, and Andy Chapman on drums.

Wake Up Tom

Wake Up TomTom Walker: guitar, vocals
Tom Heasman: percussion
Henry Willard: double bass, vocals

The band: formed by the fortunate chance encounter of three friends of other mutual friends.

The name: the childhood tendency of founding member Tom Walker to have his head in the clouds.
This has continued into adulthood.

The music: life-affirming-acousticy-folk-pop...sort of.

Our hope: making music that makes you smile.
