The MarlowFM Music Festival: Live @ Borlase

2010-07-20

Tickets are still available for an exclusive and intimate evening of music taking place in the theatre at Borlase on Saturday 11th September. Only 150 tickets at £20 each remain for this unique fund raising event and seem to be proving very popular so far.

Nick Heyward (of Haircut 100 fame of course) is headlining and this will be tone of only two remaining gigs he'll be playing this year. He'll be doing new material that hasn't been performed in public before along with acoustic versions of his classic hits.

This will also be the last gig in the UK for the brilliant Clarence Bucaro before he flys back to New York the next day. "Jazz-infused songs reminiscent of Moondance-era Van Morrison" says TIME OUT NEW YORK and "Inspirational and beautiful" the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES.

Alexander Stewart has been making big waves and is tipped to be as successful as Jamie Cullum; both highly praised and widely publicised by Sir Michael Parkinson. Alexander has appeared on both TV (Titchmarsh Show) and Radio (Friday Night Is Music Night, Radio 2, JazzFM) in recent months.

Old Lost John (Tomas Thunberg) is a wonderful singer/songwriter who hails from Malmo in Sweden. If you like the music of Leonard Cohen and Eels (Aka Mark Oliver Everett) you'll enjoy the self penned thought provoking numbers from Tomas.

Wake Up Tom are a young three piece from Tonbridge Wells who Paul Mansell, MarlowFM director and festival organiser, came across when they were supporting Jenna Witts, one of the headline acts on the 11th September in Riley Park. Paul was so impressed he asked them straight after their set if they'd also consider playing the music festival. They are the only artist/band performing twice on the day, with a set both in Riley Park and in Borlase theatre.

Marlow FM would like to thank Sir William Borlase's Grammar School for the use of their wonderful theatre to present what will surely be five outstanding and memorable performances.
