Tonight on Marlow FM, 7.00-9.00pm, is the monthly Pirate FM prog rock special featuring music from two icons of progressive rock.
Guitar hero Martin Barre releases his new solo album Roads Less Travelled, tomorrow, on the 5th October. Barre was the guitarist for rock band Jethro Tull from 1969 – 2012and appeared on all but their debut album during his 33 year stint with Tull and is the longest-serving member after Ian Anderson. Paul Mansell talked to Martin last month and that interview along with all 11 tracks from his new album take up the first half of the show.
The second part of Pirate FM features selected tracks from the legendary guitarist Steve Hackett. He releases a special limited edition 6CD & 2DVD collection titled ‘Broken Skies - Outspread Wings (1984-2006)’ also on the 5th October.
The final long track is a live performance of Aqualung by Jethro Tull from a BBC Sight and Sound show in 1977 demonstrating the extraordinary guitar talents of Martin Barre.
