The lock screen interface lets you play or pause; the app still lets you play or stop. So you’ve got a choice now!

On the iOS (Apple) version, tapping the artwork or logo on the audio interface toggles between different displays - small or large. Tapping the AirDrop icon lets you stream from your device to any Apple TV you have on your network. And tapping the text on the audio interface takes you back to the app.

On the Android version, tapping the small audio interface opens a large one. Tapping the ‘Media output’ button lets you stream from your device to any other Google audio device you have on your network. And tapping elsewhere on the large audio interface takes you back to the app.

Marlow FM volunteer Luke Morton, who built the app, said: “Thanks for waiting! We know lots of you were holding out for these new controls, so now’s the time to give our app a go! As well as making it really easy to listen to your community radio station wherever you are in the world, and to get in touch with the studio, the app’s got a lot of useful local information too, like travel, weather, and MyMarlow news. Download or upgrade it today!”

With new version 1.14, you can now control the audio from your device’s lock screen, the screen that appears after the device has gone to sleep and you wake it up.
Launched at the beginning of June, the lively, family-friendly show already features a team of 20 young contributors who help shape everything from creating jingles to planning content. A talented Year 11 student helps produce all this audio.

Two exciting new features are set to launch soon. Zoo Radio, starting on 27th July, will give the youngsters more time behind the mic, while Take Over will invite teams to plan and present their own 20-minute slots - with the winners getting hands-on training at the Marlow FM broadcast desk.

In just a short space of time, the students are gaining confidence, building skills, and becoming part of the Marlow FM family.

The programme comes after the success of Jonny Ratner and Lisa BHA’s Teacher Feature on Breakfast, and reflects Marlow FM’s commitment to giving the next generation real experience in community radio.

We’re stepping up our work with young people following our move to Great Marlow School last year.
Our weekly environment programme, The Eco Show, ably steered by Toby Brown for more than four years, becomes The Earth Show and moves to Sundays at 6pm. Toby has moved away from the area, and the show’s original presenter, Dave Hampton, returns to Marlow FM to take over. Thanks, Toby, and welcome back, Dave!

Jules Herd’s dynamic talk show, On The Edge, moves to Mondays at 7pm. Since it started last June, the programme has featured some truly inspirational guests and their stories.

Finally, new presenter Colin Moore brings a weekly music quiz, The Hit Mix Challenge, to the schedule - with a chance to win prizes! Colin’s here every Monday at 2pm.

We hope you continue to enjoy these and our other fun and engaging programmes.

There are some exciting changes to our schedule this spring.

Marlow’s 2024 Hidden Gems revealed

Marlow’s Hidden Gems of 2024 have been revealed.
