Mary Flavelle

Everyone at Marlow FM is devastated to hear the news that our dear colleague and friend, Mary Flavelle, died on Friday 3rd July, with her family around her. We, and our listeners, had missed her mix of dulcet Irish tones and exuberant laughter for some time, and it’s saddening that we won’t hear her again on the radio.

Mary was, without doubt, larger than life, and she lived it to the full. She was fabulously irreverent, and extremely funny. Her weekly Good Morning Marlow show, with co-presenter Geoff Motley, attracted many loyal listeners - the inseparable duo playfully called themselves the ‘Hinge and Bracket’ of Marlow FM.

Above all, Mary loved her community, and doing as much as she could for it. Here at Marlow FM, she never stopped trying to get the best out of all of us. We’ll miss her so much.

We will remember this unique and very special lady with much love, and our thoughts are with her husband, Harry, and everyone whose lives Mary touched.
